1. Member privacy option available

Go to http://lopsa.org/user
Click on the Edit tab.
Now click on the Privacy tab.

LOPSA *never* releases member email addresses to 3rd parties. Our privacy policy is available online at http://lopsa.org/privacy

If there are any questions or problems, let us know at feedback@lopsa.org

2. LOPSA teams with Sysadmin Magazine

As a new member benefit, SysAdmin Magazine is going to be giving our members a free one year subscription. If you would prefer to not receive this benefit, please make sure you've opted out (see above). [Editor's note: since the release of this memo, CMP Technology has decided that it will no longer be publishing Sysadmin Magazine in paper format]

3. Congratulations, Jon Cellini

Congratualtions to Jon Cellini, winner of the LOPSA quarterly member drawing! A bright shiny PSP is on the way. The next drawing will be held in April for an iPod Nano from all the new and renewing members within the first quarter of 2007.

4. New jobs section

The LOPSA jobs board will be getting an upgrade soon - we have partnered with JobTarget, and they'll be hosting our job site. What this means for you is access to better search technology, more potential applicants for a job you post or opportunities to find a job you want. We'll be announcing the go-live, so stay tuned.

5. Volunteer!

Thanks to our many dedicated LOPSA volunteers, without whom nothing would get done. LOPSA can only work if our members contribute, so please don't be shy! Check out Projects area (http://lopsa.org/LOPSAProjects) for things you might be interested in helping with, or contact our Volunteer Coordinator (volcoordinator@lopsa.org) for current pressing needs. Your skills (mad or otherwise) are needed!

6. Welcome, new local affiliate!

LOPSA is pleased to announce another local affiliate group - Ottawa Vally SAGE (http://www.ovsage.org/). Welcome! ovSAGE has been serving sysadmins in Ottawa, Ontario since 1998, and meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month. If you're up that way, check them out!

7. It's #lopsa-live time again

Join the LOPSA Board in an online chat (IRC, #lopsa-live) from 5-6PM EST on Wednesday, March 28th. We'll have a few things we'd like your input on, but mostly we want to hear from you! Stop in and let us know what you're thinking.

8. Sysadmin Days in summer

LOPSA's second SysadminDays training conference is coming up this summer in the Philadelphia area. For the best of affordable professional training on various topics, keep your calendars open. More information is coming soon - stay tuned!
