LOPSA @ LISA

LOPSA, of course, will be at LISA in force. We'll have a booth in
the trade show, among other things, and would love to have volunteers
and folks around to help spread the word on LOPSA to the rest of the
conference.

If you're interested in helping out, contact Matt Barr at mbarr@lopsa.org.

LOPSA Live Wednesday 10/24 at 9PM EDT

LOPSA Live is a chance for members of LOPSA to interact directly with
members of the Board, ask questions, make suggestions, and whatnot
in a smaller, "focus group" online chat.

This time around we're going to look for the night owl & Western
timezone segment and schedule a later session. We like to move the
timing around to ensure that people with scheduling conflicts will
be able to participate eventually.

To participate, connect via IRC to irc.lopsa.org, and join the
channel #lopsa-live at 9PM EDT on 10/24.

LOPSA Local chapter highlights.

The LOPSA Local chapters continue to be active; on October 4th LOPSA-NJ
held a session entitled "Some of the things I learned while doing a Data
Center Design" by Doug Hughes in Lawrenceville, NJ, while LOPSA-Madison
hosted a talk on "Monitoring: Why does it always suck, and what can we
do about it?" in Madison WI.
