WHAT'S SYSADMIN DAYS 2007?
An innovative two-day, accelerated-learning format training session, this event offers more knowledge for the money than any other training session. Unlike vendor training or conference learning sessions, Sysadmin Days uses focused lectures and interactive classroom discussion to discuss industry issues and problems from security policy development to the responsibilities of an ethical system administrator.

Whether you are a junior, mid-level or advanced system administration professional, Sysadmin Days 2007 will benefit your organization. You can expect to:

  • Choose the classes that best meet your organization's needs.
  • Bring real-world problems to class discussions.
  • Participate in a speed networking event.
  • Learn practical hands-on solutions to apply to everyday situations.
  • Gain a strong grounding in the philosophical underpinnings of system administration.
  • Make real-world connections to other system administration professionals.

WHO WILL TEACH AT SYSADMIN DAYS 2007?
Instructors include senior system administrators and other industry experts who have in-the-trenches experience handling the issues they will discuss. Tom Limoncelli, co-author of The Practice of System and Network Administration and Time Management for System Administrators, Jesse Trucks, Trey Harris, and Cat Okita are just a few of the 12 instructors who will teach classes and be on hand for one-on-one discussions.

WHAT KIND OF CLASSES CAN I EXPECT TO TAKE?
Classes are available for both specific platforms and technologies and general system administration practices, including Mac OS X Administration, Solaris 10, Linux, Security, and Perl. We'll also have sessions about topics important for any sysadmin, including Drafting Policy Documents, Communications Skills, and Time Management. Visit the Sysadmin Days program to start planning your class schedule.

WHAT'S THE FORMAT?
Classes are compressed into half-day formats, thereby allowing attendees to take four classes during the two-day event. Although the learning environment is accelerated, you can expect to engage in discussion about real-world problems and issues. Attendees at the 2006 Sysadmin Days agreed that they came with questions and went home with answers that could be implemented immediately.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Your registration includes four 1/2-day classes, Monday evening programming, continental breakfast, coffee breaks and lunches on both Monday and Tuesday, and a dinner reception Monday evening.

WHERE WILL SYSADMIN DAYS 2007 BE HELD?
LOPSA plans to make Sysadmin Days an annual event and to hold the training sessions in different regions of the country. This year's event will be held on the East coast to serve the large system administrator population in that area of the country. The event will be held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Cherry Hill, NJ (Cherry Hill is close to Philadelphia). This hotel is centrally located and allows an easy commute for many conference attendees.

WHAT'S THE COST?
Dollar for dollar, Sysadmin Days 2007 offers more benefit for the small- to mid-sized or educational institution. Unlike a large conference which requires attendees to give up four to five days in the office in addition to pay for costly hotels and other fees, Sysadmin Days is a two-day/one night event. Registration fees are reasonably priced to allow junior and mid-level system administrators to attend the event, and participants who live close to the conference center are encouraged to commute to the event.

HOW DO I REGISTER?
Proceed to the online registration form to secure your spot in the classes of your choice. If you register before July 6, you will qualify for early-bird registration and can receive up to $200 off your event fee. In addition, LOPSA has negotiated a special room rate for attendees who plan to stay overnight. Other travel arrangements also may be made for those who wish to commute to the conference.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
LOPSA needs help spreading the word about Sysadmin Days 2007. If you know of someone who would benefit from joining us at this year's event, send them a link to this page or you can add a Web banner or button to your Web site. LOPSA also offers sponsorship opportunities. Contact LOPSA today for more information.
