Arizona to host League of Professional System Administrators first training workshop

ARIZONA TO HOST LEAGUE OF PROFESSIONAL SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS FIRST TRAINING WORKSHOP MOUNT LAUREL, NJ, OCTOBER 10, 2006 – The League of Professional System Administrators (LOPSA) is proud to present SysAdmin Days, the association’s first-ever, in-person training workshop for system administrators to be held next month, November 6 – 7 at the Crowne Plaza Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona. Sponsored in part by the Arizona Technology Council and the local LOPSA chapter, this two-day training workshop is designed to give system administrators practical tools and face-to-face advice from other professionals in the field. Workshops being presented will address both specific platforms and technologies and general system administration practices, including Mac OS X Administration, PHP, and Perl. Sessions will cover topics such as drafting policy documents, communications skills, time management, disaster recovery, and many more. The program is designed for all system administrators, regardless of skill and experience levels. For the event, LOPSA will welcome leading industry professionals as instructors for the various sessions, including Tom Limoncelli, co-author of The Practice of System and Network Administration and Time Management for System Administrators, Mike Halligan, CTO of BitPusher, George Toft, CISSP, MSIS from www.myITaz.com, and more. “I'm excited to be a part of LOPSA’s SysAdmin Days program,” commented Tom Limoncelli, presenter of Time Management for System Administrators. “This new workshop attracts system administrators who were not being reached previously, and covers a variety of topics valuable to every professional in the field.” The League of Professional System Administrators (LOPSA) is an independent non-profit corporation dedicated to advancing the practice of system administration.
