Linux, Solaris, management console, GUI, one-to-many changes, change tracking, automatic revision control, role-based access

Stable

NetDirector replaces ad hoc scripts for making configuration changes to many servers at the same time with a well-defined, consistent process.
Schedule Changes to happen anytime in the future
Rollback any change
NetDirector's built-in revision control makes life a lot easier
See who did what, when and what they did - NetDirector stores all change info in its database. Easily export audit trails
Use NetDirector's role-based permissions to enforce segregation of duties. When an Admin logs into NetDirector, they will only see, and can only configure, the servers and services on these servers that pertain to their role.
Group your servers in NetDirector however you want and then apply changes to all servers, to a group of servers, or to any combination of servers you want to. It's up to you.

Simplify platform migrations
Clone a server's configuration settings to another server. Take this scenario: you've got some old servers running Apache that you want to retire and replace with newer ones running a different Linux distro, but you're dreading having to recreate all your Apache configs on the new machines. With NetDirector's configuration cloning feature, simply select the server you want to copy the configuration settings from, the service (Apache in this case) and the server you want to clone to. That's it. You're new Linux Apache servers will take on all the configuration settings of the old machines. Migration complete.

Simplify Multi-Distro and Mixed Linux/Solaris Management
With NetDirector in place as your configuration management system, Administrators get one consistent console for all their various distributions of Linux as well as Solaris. No more swivel chair management and no more lost productivity when you migrate.

Help Junior Admins Get Comfortable with Linux, Fast
NetDirector gives you options. You can use the intuitive UI to do fill in the blanks configuration of even the most complex services, like BIND, Kerberos, Samba and LDAP. Or, for the senior *Nix Admin, NetDirector let's you go straight to the flat files and do the configuration manually.

NetDirector's tight role-based permissions and embedded configuration management database dramatically ease regulatory compliance.

Even with all this power, thanks to its slick, comprehensive installer, NetDirector can be installed in minutes and set up in an hour or less, depending on the number of servers you are managing. In the words of one of NetDirector's earliest users, the install and set-up was "surprisingly painless."
What else can NetDirector do beyond configuration management?

* Troubleshooting/Logs - with the Log Browser, just pick the server and the day and view the logs
* Built-in support for managing clustered servers
* Disaster recovery with configuration cloning

NetDirector can be applied to other server functions, too. For example, you could adapt NetDirector to schedule and run shell scripts on servers under management. Or, you could develop a module to provide system backups using Amanda, or simply use NetDirector as a way to front-end access to all servers, giving you the ability to tighten the points of authentication to servers and add an additional layer of security.
