Last year, the 2nd place WiP was a guy from Sandia who must have
flipped through, no joke,150 slides in 5 minutes. He was showing some
nifty hardware and talking his way through the slides, almost making
it seem like you were seeing an animation going around things. It was
awesome!
The winning WiP had maybe 5 slides. I have to admit what one it for
him was the fact that he got more and more hysterical as the
presentation went on. His topic was, "CADUBI: I Wrote It Ages Ago and
I No Longer Support It So Please Leave Me Alone." His slides are
online [hello, google] but it's just not as much fun without watching
the presenter work himself into a lather. By the end I wasn't the
only one laughing so hard I couldn't speak.
So my opinion is: One slide or 9 million, it's all about the presentation.
