Initial thoughts.
Alright, it's Monday morning, and I've read through chapter 4 and the
book is spot-on so far. I was even interrupted for a help-desk
request in the middle of reading:
"Heck, I bet someone's interrupted you while reading this paragraph."
My day is generally interruption driven. Nights, on the other hand,
are driven by booze.
I think the hardest part of reading a book like this is the fact that
so much of it is common sense. But, it's common sense in the vain of
'stop, drop, and roll.' You want me to stop running??!! But I'm on
fiiiiiiirrrrreeee!!!
I haven't done anything that the book suggests, yet. That's for this
week. But, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a dismal failure unless I
implement the 'get to work one hour early rule.' Except for today,
because Covad is suppose to stop by sometime between 8am and 10pm to
plug in my Speakeasy voip adapter... gah! So, today will be a
handicapped start.
Entourage will be my PDA/PAA of choice, at least initially, because
everyone in my office likes to communicate through email as much as
possible (why, oh why...), and Entourage makes it pretty easy to link
emails, to-do lists, and calendars.
I've tried the palm pilot in the past, and it didn't work for me. I
would prefer the PAA, but paper planners have the annoying limitation
of not syncing with email in a convenient manner...
And, I need to finally set up that Request Tracker database that I
keep telling myself I'll set up with that spare machine...

Statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting blame upon the nation that
is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing
falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any
refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that
the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys
after this process of grotesque self-deception.
