[lopsa-discuss] Lenova thoughts?

All:

At the end of this year, and the beginning of next year, our little
non-profit is finally getting some new PCs, whoop!

With these new PCs I'll finally get a chance to retrofit our
infrastructure and implement one of our ancient rites: drive images.

I'm looking at Lenova because our sales guy assured me that Lenova
uses the same parts throughout the production of a particular
product's life. So the Thinkcenter 51p will _always_ have the same
motherboard, etc. This is important to me because we won't be able to
buy all of our PCs at once, but rather, over a period of three-four
months.

This is also why I'm shying away from Dell: their propensity to throw
in different models of boards, network cards, video cards and anything
else they can think of to maintain their low-low-prices.

I've seen a little chatter on the list (or was it the SAGE list?)
about Lenova, but little has been said. Has anyone have any
experience with them yet? Good, bad, ugly?

Gil

Statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting blame upon the nation that
is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing
falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any
refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that
the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys
after this process of grotesque self-deception.
