I'm not sure about any message that SAGE put out; I had direct
conversations with Alva Couch at LISA and he took an action item to get
the USENIX board to de-brand the CoE, and invite LOPSA to field the
official committee. I put out a status report to this list
(ethics-review) on 1/23 fully laying out the intentions and changing the
date from 2/1/06 (the original deadline) to 3/1/06 because of the
confusion before LISA. You must have seen that message to know about
the date change. If you were confused, I wish you would have contacted
me (either directly or as a response to the status message) requesting
explanation.

When we formed the original committe (yourself, Robert Brockway, Lois
Bennett, Gene Rackow, and Andrew Barnes), it was with the intention that
you would be the community leaders and would hold public discussions
both at LISA and online. We had a very lively discussion at LISA but
did not come up with any major issues that anyone felt needed to be
addressed; however, there are some fourty or so members on this list and
we had only about twenty at the BOF, so there may yet be ideas that have
not been put forth.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
