Both are valid items for the LOPSA regional event list.

That's why I want them categorized. Then it's just a matter of polling by
category.

Something like that is probably the easiest for most of us. It would
require some way of doing categorization.

Maybe the address could do categorization, e.g. send it to
regional_events+BostonMAUS-BBLISA-local-$speaker-$topic-$date at LOPSA.org.

In the case I was thinking $speaker would be the person submitting it, but
we might be able to also just grab -announce stuff.

We're smart, I'm sure we can come up with something you only have to think
about once or twice.

I agree that we want to reduce the amount of work people do to make
presentations not increase it.
