[Lopsa-regional-project] Another local leader chimes in

I think Adam identified the two biggest issues with keeping
groups of this type going:
1) Getting people to help out
2) Finding speakers

Having a single person doing all (or the majority) of the work of making a
local group function simply isn't viable for long-term success of a group.
Okay, technically, if that one person never has other comittments, never
gets sick, never goes on vacation, never moves out of the area and never
gets tired of doing it; then it can work; but inevitably one of those
"nevers" happens.

Now, we could get into a discussion about how groups can deal with that
issue, but even better would be to add to the list of things LOPSA could do
for groups: have documents online about best practices for running a group,
ideas of how to get speakers, etc.

http://linuxmafia.com/faq/Linux_PR/newlug.html is a good potential start to
such documentation. (and seems to have a license allowing creation of
derivative works, even) Aimed at LUGs, but most of those things apply
equally to any local tech group.
