moin moin,

I've been working on the board to get us setup as an official local
organization. The board wants to approve us, but no good deed goes
un-paperworked.

Below is a list of things we need in the application along with my
thoughts on them. Please feel free to give your opinion.

. "names of chapter members and their individual LOPSA membership status"

Everyone on the mailing list can be a charter member if you desire. Please
let me know ( onlist or offlist ) if you'd like to be listed as a charter
member of LOPSA-US-AZ. If you're going to be listed I need to know whether
or not you've got a paid membership for LOPSA. I don't believe that's a
requirement for everyone. We do have to have a certain number of active
LOPSA members, though, so don't everyone hold out on me :).

. "a list of goals and objectives"

We have any?

Build a professional system organization for all Arizonans.
Work with other groups, such as PLUG, PCUG, TFUG, LUNA, to bring system
administration topics to their normal events and co-sponsor sysadm events.
Build an active local technical mailing list for system administrators.

. "local dues (if applicable)"

I don't think we need any now. I'm not opposed to paying some, but I think
it would interfere with recruitment.

. "a meeting schedule"

None. At least that's what I think. I'd rather see us providing good
topics for existent groups.

"After review by staff, the application will be put on the Board agenda
for vote. If approved, a set of draft bylaws will be supplied to the
Chapter for approval."

They're waiting on us to return the application.

ciao,
