I remember a "Fat" Mac from my early childhood. A Commodore 64 was the first computer that was mine.

Other than my childhood computers? That would probably be the machines I administrated in middle school and high school.

I remember being paid for weekend stint in middle school. My high school library/AV department hired me to lug computers around and reset passwords on their WinNT network.
ideal sysadmin job:
Sysadmining for a lab with big toys. Distribution-level devloper

Partways through a Computer Systems Engineering degree at Arizona State University.

Challenging, and not without its frustrations.

System administration is also lacking in support for junior admins (either via eduction, mentoring or another avenue).
advice to a junior admin:
Join LOPSA! Find mentors and local peers.
    
advice to a senior admin:
Hire Junior admins. Other than when I was a minor, I never have had a more senior admin as a supervisor.
