General-purpose mail filtering daemon for Sendmail and Postfix

Fri, 2005-06-03 14:47

Stable

Mailfromd is a general-purpose mail filtering daemon for Sendmail and Postfix. It is able to filter both incoming and outgoing messages using criteria of arbitrary complexity, supplied by the administrator in the form of a script file. The daemon interfaces with the MTA using Milter protocol.

The program name -- mailfromd -- stems from the fact that the original implementation was a simple filter implementing the sender address verification technique. Since then the program has changed dramatically, and now it is actually a specialized system providing a set of interfacing functions, along with a language translator and runtime evaluator for executing user-defined filter programs.

With Netdisco you can locate the switch port of an end-user system by IP or MAC address. Data is stored using a SQL database for scalability and speed. Layer-2 topology protocols such as CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) optionally provides automatic discovery of the network topology.

SMTP testing tool, includes STARTTLS and SMTP AUTH

Wed, 2006-06-21 19:30

Stable

This tool is a command-line interface for testing SMTP servers. It supports many protocol options and connection methods, including: plaintext SMTP, SMTP with SSL on connect (the deprecated method many clients use on port 465), STARTTLS after session start, SMTP AUTH with basic authentication or MD5-based methods, and more with good debugging output to help diagnose problems that can be difficult to find using most full-featured e-mail clients that lack good feedback on the outgoing process.
