Dear LOPSA Members:

To provide for a better election process, the board has provisionally approved a proposal to amend the bylaws. The changes are:

1. Amend Article 4 (Directors), Section 3 (Election of Directors) Subsection B (Nomination) by striking all of part b) 

b) A petition, signed by no less than 10 (ten) members of the Association in good standing, is submitted to the Chair of the Leadership Committee, no less than 30 days prior to an election.

and inserting

b) The member nominates themselves or is nominated by another member; with the nomination submitted to a Director via electronic written means no less than 30 days prior to an election.


As a LOPSA member you may submit a comment to the board regarding these changes. They may be sent to board@lopsa.org. The comment period will be open until end of the day October 29th. Note that these comments will be a part of the record. The Board will then consider all comments, and will vote on November 2nd to permanently approve or reject the changes.
