In 2012, Drew joined LOPSA and found a welcoming and helpful community of peers who shared his passion for learning and professional growth. He fell in love with the organization then and has been a dedicated member ever since.
Drew’s professional experience is extensive in the use of containers and building automation leveraging Salt. He has been a Linux Systems Administrator, a Site Reliability Engineer and is currently a Software Developer at SUSE working on the Enterprise Storage team. At SUSE Drew endeavors to bring together the best of the modern container ecosystem and Salt’s feature-rich automation facilities to make life easier for all SUSE Enterprise Storage customers.
Throughout Drew’s career, he has observed how the movement toward Cloud-centric tools and DevOps methodologies have made sysadmin fundamentals and principals more relevant than ever. Therefore, he strongly believes that the LOPSA mission of advancing the practice of system administration only continues to grow in importance.
